Cordierite DPF Coating with PT Pd Rh for Removing Black Smoke From Diesel Engine
The three-way catalyst (TWC) is made of cordierite honeycomb ceramics as a carrier, rare earth composite oxides as additives, and a small number of precious metals (PD/PD/RH) added and sintered after a special coating process. The product makes full use of the coordinated effects of precious metals and rare earth composite oxides. The carbon monoxide CO, hydrocarbons HC, and nitrogen oxides NOX in the exhaust gas undergo oxidation/reduction, thereby converting them into non-toxic carbon dioxide, water and nitrogen.

Three-Way Catalytic Converter
Uses advanced spiral wound ultra thin foil
Our Three-Way Catalytic Converters are constructed of high temperature tolerant, corrosion resistant steel alloys. Thick steel alloy retainers are used to provide support and stability for the inlet and outlet faces of the metallic core. The effects of high thermal shock and severe vibration are minimized. The larger model catalytic converters (Models 12 SXT and higher) feature inlet flow diverters for even exhaust flow distribution and improved operating efficiency.

Our 3 way catalytic converters feature high strength, ultra-thin metallic core walls which impose a minimal exhaust gas restriction during operation. Even under high load/speed conditions the average engine operating efficiency is barely affected.
Under normal circumstances the exhaust gas back pressure restriction will be in the order of 6.0" to 9.0" water gauge (depending on exhaust gas temperature).

Honeycomb Metallic substrate (catalyst)
metallic catalyst substrates are made of thin metal foils, flat and corrugated, formed into a honeycomb structure which is placed inside a metal shell, the advantages of metal substrates are their high geometric surface area and low pressure drop associated with the thin walls. The foils in metallic substrates can be brazed/welded together to provide good mechanical durability and resistance to thermal shock. The major disadvantage of high quality metallic substrates is their high cost.
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is an exhaust aftertreatment device that traps particulate matter such as soot and ash. A DPF typically uses a substrate made of a ceramic material that is formed into a honeycomb structure.
A DPF has been a requirement of all new diesels since 2009 when the 'Euro 5' emissions standard came into force.

1. What Is A DPF Filter?

DPF stands for Diesel Particulate Filter. Such DPF filters are devices that reduce toxic emissions (air pollution) from diesel exhaust. Specifically, these filters prevent solid particles that are harmful to breathe (i.e. soot), which are created by burning fuel, from leaving the truck and getting into the air. They also keep an engine more fuel-efficient by recycling the soot that gets caught and re-using it for fuel again.

The cylinders in the engine compress air with such force that the air becomes a dense gas- dense enough that it becomes superheated, igniting the diesel fuel. This creates a kind of "controlled explosion," one in which most of the heat energy is changed into kinetic energy by the internal mechanisms of the engine (the physical motion of the piston and crankshaft), turning the wheels and powering the truck.
